The Laboratory of Indigenous Languages of the University of Brasilia and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru are jointly organizing an International Meeting: Archeology and Historical Linguistics of South American Indian Languages. The conference will be held at the University of Brasília, from October 24th to 28th, 2011, and will bring together specialists in different scientific areas who share the interest for the linguistic and cultural prehistory of the native peoples of the Americas, especially South American peoples. This event follows the path of the previous conferences organized by the Laboratory of Indigenous Languages on linguistic and cultural prehistory, beginning on October 2005 with the I International Workshop on Historical Linguistics and Language Contact.
